The Details
The Castelli Velocissimo 5 Bib Tights are an excellent option for most of your winter road riding needs. The Velocissimo work best in mild to cool conditions with a minimalist design providing excellent comfort.
The upper section of the Velocissimo bib tights makes use of Castelli's Thermoflex fabric. This is Castelli's softest and stretchiest winter fabric which is well suited to conditions of around 10 degrees.
The lower section of the Velocissimo uses Castelli's NanoFlex technology. This is a splash-resistant fabric, which helps to pool water off of the fabric - keeping you nice and dry in light showers and protecting you from road spray as well.
The ankles are also construed, in part, from NanoFlex fabrics, as this fabric is also remarkably stretchy. This has reduced the need for bulky zips.
These tights use the KISS Air2 chamois. This chamois offers good padding with efficient moisture management.
