The Details
The Fi’zi:k Artica X5 Mountain Bike Cycling shoe is both lightweight and comfortable designed to combat the elements. Made for performance, it's waterproof and insulated to give all-around protection.
The Artica X5 can be fastened securely to your feet using the Internal Speed Lacing system, which also allows for easy adjustments to get that perfectly snug fit. Whilst a Carbon-reinforced nylon outsole provides increased trail protection and delivers power transfer, combine this with the cosy upper fleece and the insulating aluminum foil underside designed to keep your feet warm.
The Fi’zi:k Artica X5 Mountain Bike cycling shoes also have a rubber sole pattern to provide a stable, off-bike walking grip.

Purchasing a pair of cycling shoes for the first time can lead to a lot of questions. We at Rutland Cycling have over 30 years of shoe fitting experience, so here are some key pointers to look out for when buying a new pair:
1. When deciding what size cycling shoes to get, go with your normal shoe size, as cycling shoes typically run true to size. However, if you’re normally between sizes, for example sometimes you go with a 9 and sometimes a 9.5, it’s recommended that you size up.
2. The best time to measure your feet, or to try shoes on is in the afternoon, as this is when they will be at their largest due to your feet naturally tending to swell throughout the day.
3. Cycling shoes are intended to wrap snuggly around the foot as they have been designed with a specific purpose in mind—pedaling. The goal is to try and provide as much lower leg and arch stability as possible and provide you with a stable pedaling platform.
4. With the cycling industry largely originating in Europe, European sizing is the typical standard. The best way to figure out a specific brand size is use a that brand’s conversion chart. However, below is general sizing conversion chart based off conventional UK shoe sizing.
