The Details
The Status 160 is a mullet MTB meaning it has a 29" front wheel and a 27.5" rear wheel. This aims to take the benefits of both wheel sizes such as the short wheelbase and chainstays that a 27.5" rear wheel allows but with the best possible speed and traction because of the 29" front wheel. The Status won't break a sweat no matter what you throw at it.
Fun has been the main goal when Specialized designed the Status. This is evidenced by the mullet wheel set-up and continues through to the mixed-wheel trail geometry which is also size specific allowing you to get your desired reach and wheelbase to ensure you can get your preferred handling characteristics.
The Fox Float 36 Rhythm offers impressive damping and the two-position Sweep adjustment means it uses it's 160mm of travel as efficiently as possible. The impressive suspension will make you fly down the trail but don't worry because the SRAM Code R brakes provide unbeatable stopping power thanks to their 4-piston callipers and 200mm rotors. The Status 160 even features an X-Fusion Manic dropper post.
