The S-Works Epic Hardtail is a MTB that is so light it makes many road bikes quake in their boots. Despite barely registering on the weighing scales, the Epic Hardtail is extremely capable and pushes the boundaries of what a hardtail can do.
Specialized's Epic Hardtail MTB's design approach has been to work towards the lightest bike possible. They've optimised every inch of the Epic Hardtail frame to achieve the lightest production hardtail frame in the world whilst also committing to ensure the Epic Hardtail is super comfortable without sacrificing any ability either.
An aggressive singletrack-inspired geometry with increased tyre clearance and a frame engineered for increased vertical compliance are all in place to make the bike fast. On the S-Works Epic Hardtail, RockShox's SID SL Ultimate BRAIN fork with 100mm travel is the pinnacle of XC-race suspension and provides suspension that is firm when needed but plush when the going gets rough. While the SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS groupset will provide accurate, crisp shifts to ensure nothing holds you back. The S-Works model also features Roval Control Carbon SL wheels which weigh a remarkable 1240g and have a 29mm internal rim width. These Roval wheels are super strong and durable yet are lightweight and provide excellent ride quality.
Capable and refreshingly comfortable, the S-Works Epic Hardtail uses Specialized's FACT 12m carbon to create a super-light frame that is also very compliant and dropper post compatible.
